Emailing
Send invoices and quotes using your default Mail app, with smart templates and privacy safeguards built in.
Encrypted by Default
Your data stays encrypted at rest on your device. Attaching a PDF to an email creates an unencrypted file outside that container — you’ll see a confirmation step labeled “Heads-up: Leaving Encrypted Container”. Authenticate if prompted, so you always opt in knowingly.
Send from the Client screen
Open a client, then tap the three-dot (…) menu in the top-right.
Choose Email. (Other quick actions there include Call, Directions, and New Appointment.)
Your Mail app opens with the client’s address prefilled and your default message template applied. Edit as needed, then send.
Email an Invoice or Quote
From the invoice (or quote) detail view, tap Share → Email.
Confirm the warning “Heads-up: Leaving Encrypted Container”. Authenticate if prompted.
Mail opens with the PDF attached, subject/body filled from your templates, and the client’s email ready. Review and send.
Why the warning? Solid Invoice is Encrypted by Default. Exports (like PDFs/CSVs) are unencrypted files you control. The prompt ensures you never share sensitive data by accident.
Default Email Templates
Customize your subject and body templates in Settings → Email. Placeholders auto-fill details when composing:
[FirstName], [LastName]
[InvoiceNumber]
[Total] — uses your current currency settings
Troubleshooting
No email accounts? iOS/iPadOS: add an account in Settings → Mail → Accounts. macOS: in Mail → Settings → Accounts.
Wrong sender? Use Mail’s “From” selector or change the default account in system Mail settings.
Attachment missing? Re-share from the invoice, confirm the export prompt, then try again.
Template didn’t apply? Check Settings → Email for the latest subject/body and supported placeholders.
